Admissions Process

HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL ADMISSION PROCESS

Holy Family Catholic School is a special ministry of Holy Family Parish.  Our mission involves providing a quality education within a nurturing, Catholic, family environment.  As a parish school receiving a substantial amount of financial assistance from the parish, our first commitment is to the members of the parish.  Therefore, our admission process gives priority to parish families but does not automatically admit a student simply on the basis of parish membership.

The decision to enroll a new student in Holy Family Catholic School will be based on, but not limited to, the following criteria:

An evaluation of the following information:

  •  Application for Enrollment (PreK 3 - Grade 8);

          Students from other Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth must provide an Exit form from their current school before their application can be processed.

  • Birth certificate (PreK 3 - Grade 1);
  • Last year's report card (Grades 2 - 8);
  • The most current report card (Grades 1 - 8);
  • Achievement test scores;
  • Verification of "parishioner" status;
  • PreK 4 and Kindergarten readiness assessment by Holy Family Catholic School; and
  • Placement testing of students (Grades 1 - 7) by Holy Family Catholic School

After the placement test has been completed and scored, parent will be notified.

SCHEDULE

RANKING

Ranking for students applying for admission to grades PreKindergarten through grade seven during the registration period shall be determined by the following:

1st Group:      Children presently enrolled in HFCS, their siblings and children                         of HFCS employees

2nd Group:     Children who are members of a Catholic Church in the Diocese

3rd Group:      Children who are not members of a Catholic Church in the Diocese

When screening several students within any one "priority grouping," special consideration will be given to children:

  • who have been successfully enrolled in a Catholic school;
  • who are parishioners
  • who are Cathoic

When several students within a particular priority grouping are equally eligible for a limited number of positions, a lottery will be used to determine the sequence of selection.

Admission to Grade 8

Students are not admitted to the 8th grade unless they have been successfully enrolled in a Catholic school for the previous two school years and are relocating from another geographical area or if there are extenuating circumstances.
