Monday Memo, May 26

Date: May 26, 2009

From Dr. Shreve

This is our last week of the Acts of the Apostles. The Apostles carry on the work of Jesus and the future community takes shape with the gift of the Holy Spirit being given to the Gentiles. Father Joe reminded us last week at school Mass that we cannot “take a vacation from our vocation.” Like the Apostles, we must continue to do the work of Jesus and with Pentecost coming this Sunday, we must allow the Holy Spirit to be our Advocate, or helper. Pentecost is the birthday of the Church. Don’t forget that we are the Father’s gift to Jesus. Our mission is to spread the word.

Lord, send out your Spirit,

and renew the face of the earth.

On behalf of Father Joe and the faculty and staff, let me say that it continues to be a blessing to serve your children. We pray that your summer is one of hope and continued prayer.

Dads' Club golf tournament -Thanks to all who made last Friday's third annual golf tournament a success.

Enrollment for the 2009-2010 is looking great so far. However, we still have openings in some grades. The PreK 4 classes still have openings. HFCS has the reputation of having an overabundance of applications in the younger grades so if you have friends or family with a 4-year-old child, please let them know there are still openings available. Word of mouth is still our best advertisement.
